Thankful Thursday! || Brooklyn Engagement Photographer

I missed Thankful Thursday last week because I was busy busy busy!  For those of you new around here, Thankful Thursday is when I list everything I’m thankful for this week.  It’s a way for me to find the positive in my life, even if something is getting me down.  This week I’m thankful for:

1. Amazing clients!  I’ve had some great sessions lately, and I feel so lucky I get to work with such wonderful people everyday.

2. My BFF and amazing maid of honor, Hilary.  I went to my first dress fitting last week, and it would have been a pretty bad experience if not for her.  It was insanely hot and we were late; I started to panic, and she whipped out paper towels which she had had the foresight to bring along so I wouldn’t be gross when we arrived to try on my dress (TMI?).  After standing on the platform waiting for our train that didn’t seem to be coming, she dragged me out of the station and got us in a cab.  When the cab driver tried to take us through Times Square and we realized we were going to have to hop out and hoof it, she SPRINTED with me through the streets of Manhattan.  She gets the maid of honor gold medal.  I am so thankful to have a friend like her.

3. And speaking of the wedding, I am so thankful for everyone who has helped us.  Our families who have helped us financially, and our friends who have volunteered their time to help us put things together.  And everyone who has been so supportive and excited; everyone who has just lent an ear when we needed it during this overwhelming process.  It’s been so emotional and crazy, and as we come into the home stretch now, it’s only bound to get even crazier; so from the bottom of my heart, thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has helped in any way.  I never realized how much of a community event a wedding is… and it makes my heart feel like it’s going to explode when I see how excited and supportive for our big day people are.

What are you thankful for today?

I think its absolutely amazing that you have Thankful Thursday. We should make this a national event. Many people take things for granted and its because no one ever takes the time to think about what they are truly thankful for.

I am thankful for my family. My mother who has put up with me through all the frustrating times. My father who has helped me through a financial crisis time and time again. My brothers and sister who I look forward to just making me laugh on any given day. My fiance who is with me through all the thick and thin, rough and smooth. I’d be lost without him.

I am most thankful for my life.

I hope to soon be thankful for a place to call my own!
