How is it Friday?  I need more time in my week.  These seven day weeks aren’t working out for me… can I see something in an eight or nine?

I have a lot going on, and my brain is a little scattered this morning.  This post is going to be a little stream of consciousness, so please bear with me.

I think I may have found an awesome co-working space after my post from yesterday!  I found 3rd Ward in Brooklyn, and I’m going down there for a tour this afternoon.  Hopefully it’s as amazing as it sounds, because the price is certainly right.  My days as an at-home worker seem to be numbered, thankfully.  Thanks to everyone who emailed me and tweeted suggestions!

John and I are taking a trip we’ve been wanting to take for a long, long time in June.  We are finally going to California!  I’ve only been to Southern California – L.A., San Diego… but John and I are going to San Francisco!  He actually has a conference in Santa Clara for a couple of days, and then we are driving up to San Francisco to make a vacation out of it.  I am so excited I can’t even stand it.  San Francisco has been on my list for years.  So if you have any suggestions for things we must do, or for really good restaurants, leave them in the comments!  (And if any of my West Coast friends want to get together while I’m out there… let me know!!  I’d love to meet some of you!)

Speaking of trips, next weekend we are going down to North Carolina for our dear friends Matt and Sarah’s wedding!  I can’t believe it’s already next week!  I shot their engagement just a few weeks before our wedding, and their wedding seemed so far away then.  I am not bringing my camera to this one; I’m going purely to celebrate two of our best friends tying the knot, and I can’t wait!!

One of my favorite photographers, the amazing Jasmine Star, is having a two day free online workshop starting in just a few hours.  I won’t be able to catch all of it, but you should!  You can view the workshop as it streams live from the CreativeLive classroom in about three hours.  Her wedding workshop last year was incredible, so I’m sure this one will be full of great information as well.

I have a lot of great stuff I am working on for the blog – the next vendor spotlight should be up in just a few days, and I am almost done with my portraits from Walk Through a Wedding.  Also – I have two amazing shoots this weekend!  A surprise proposal and an engagement shoot for an incredible couple.  So lots of good stuff lined up.

Happy Friday! xoxo

So I was born and raised in Northern California and San Francisco is my all time favorite city!! So here are my favorite spots:

    – Nob Hill Cafe: Super small Italian restaurant with delicious food. It tends to fill up quick, go early or try to make reservations
    – Embarcadero: Another restaurant. Been going there since I was little and everything on the menu is delicious
-Gott’s Roadside: Best burgers, onion rings and milk shakes (order the Black and white shake)
    – In n’ Out: If you haven’t had it…it’s a must in California!
    – Buena Vista Cafe: Stop in for an Irish Coffee
    – Ghirardelli Square: You will be in heaven if you like chocolate

If you are going to Pier 39, hang out in front of Joe’s Crab Shack and watch for the Bush Man that hangs out across the street…you will thank me later.

Union Square is always fun for shopping and people watching. You will be amazed at the number of street acts you will see

If you are wanting to go to Alcatraz…buy your tickets online ahead of time. I have never been able to get tickets, they sale out weeks ahead of time.

I think I will stop…I could keep going! Anything you find while you are there I am sure you will not be disappointed!

hi katie! i’m a fellow APW-er, but i found your blog through zan’s mention on her blog. i’ve been pouring over your photos all morning – i love them, and i love your personality – it shines through in your choices and photos and also of course your words.

i’m planning to go back to school for photography, and i just want to say thank you for the inspiration today.

but separately – that work space looks AWESOME and inspiring.. how cool – you can settle into a work space AND take cool classes in other arts!
