Sam & Jen Engaged! || Coney Island || Brooklyn Engagement Photographer

Sam & Jen have been a photographer’s dream pretty much from the beginning. Listening to them talk about their wedding during our first meeting I kept thinking, “I want to work with this couple SO BADLY!” They are so much fun to be around, and I can tell they really value photography. Oh and they’re obviously crazy about each other. When they said they wanted their engagement session to be at Coney Island, I may have jumped up and down.

Earlier this month the three of us headed out there – dodging a few rain storms – for one of my favorite engagement sessions of all time. It was sort of sensory overload – the light, the colors… it was just an ideal place for a portrait session. Sam & Jen were so easy to work with – I feel like I spent the whole day laughing. I feel like I was able to be so creative with them – I really pushed myself to try new angles and (as you’ll see below) play with the light in different ways. Coney Island is such a crazy and unique place that I didn’t really want the photos to look super traditional.

After the rain finally pushed us indoors, we headed back to their apartment in Park Slope for a few photos with their awesome pets. As I was about to leave, the rain stopped and we went up to their roof to catch the sunset. It was a perfect way to end the session.

Sam & Jen, thank you for being so awesome. I cannot wait for your wedding next year!!
