Jack Sneak Peek! || New York City || NY Newborn Photographer

I am not really working today, so don’t mind me. Pretend I’m not actually here. (The office is still closed until the 29th.) But I couldn’t resist sharing some photographs of my beautiful friend Alethea and her brand new baby, Jack! Jack surprised everyone by showing up a little over a week early – he was originally supposed to make a scheduled debut today – and I had intended to meet them at the hospital to capture those first few moments. Instead he showed up last Sunday – the 18th – and he was in a rush! The following Tuesday, I headed to out to the hospital to meet the new little guy. We didn’t actually get the photographs we had originally planned on, but I think these turned out pretty amazing too.

For Christmas my husband got me the VSCO Film presets I’d been lusting after for quite a while. (Much more on these later.) I used these to post process the photos of baby Jack, and I am crazy about the results. I am so inspired by the look of film – and I learned on film, so film holds a special place in my heart – and this is the closest I’ve come so far to replicating the look. I am so excited to incorporate VSCO into my workflow!

Congratulations, Alethea and Keith! You guys have one beautiful family, and I am always so honored to capture it. xo

I got VSCO a few weeks ago as well, but have been kind of hush hush about it for some reason – because… I’m not sure why? But I’ve processed quite a few sessions/engagements with it already and really loooooooove how much it speeds up my workflow! *le sigh* Christmas photos coming soon were processed with it (but I remove the grain – because I’m not sure the film look is me… or not… still deciding) :)

    Also – adorable baby!!!!!
