Kristyn & Brian were married on a perfect, sunshiny day in early September. Although we did not actually get to meet until their wedding day, Kristyn and I had a lot of funny things in common. They were from Wilmington, North Carolina, and Kristyn and I had even gone to the same high school at the same time, but we never knew each other back then. It was just a coincidence that the photographer they happened to pick to document their elopement in New York City was also from their hometown. We had a lot to talk about, trying to figure out if we shared any friends or classes back then.
Kristyn & Brian are genuinely sweet, open hearted people who are very much in love. They brought along Brian’s aunt, sister, and nephew for the occasion, and we had an amazing day together. After their City Hall elopement, we headed to the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and finally Yankee Stadium for photographs. I think the first thing Kristyn ever told me about the two of them is that they are Yankees FANATICS. (Kristyn’s garter was a Yankees garter!) And somehow we found ourselves inside a completely empty Yankee Stadium. Kristyn is so nice, and asked so sweetly, that they couldn’t say no when we wanted to go inside for photographs. (Also – I think the wedding dress may have helped!) As a Yankees fan myself, it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had as a photographer!
