This is probably going to be a pretty long blog post for a portrait session, but I can’t help it. I just have so many photographs from this awesome family that I love. This was my second year photographing these amazing twins, and it was so cool to see how much they had grown and changed in the last year. They are full of laughter and fun, and photographing them is such a blast – they definitely keep me on my toes! We set out to capture completely natural portraits – the kids playing soccer, climbing trees, jumping in leaves – and the results were spectacular. Kids being kids.
I love sessions like these because they’re real. I have absolutely nothing against studio sessions (I’d like to have a studio in the very near future, infact), but I think sessions like these are a little bit more authentic… how are you going to remember your child when you look back someday? Is the version of them all dressed up in front of a backdrop the real version… or the version of them running around – making funny faces, jumping, joking… ? That’s what you’ll remember of your child, I think. And that’s who I want to capture on film.
