Christian & Dermot’s wedding was my very first wedding of 2012. They were married the first week of January and it was COLD. Really, really cold. But I’m pretty sure their love kept them warm; I don’t even think they felt the cold for a second.
Christian is German and Dermot is Irish, but they make their home in Switzerland. They love New York City and chose to elope here since they have close friends in the city. Dermot called me a few weeks before their wedding to touch base about a couple things, and we ended up chatting for an hour, so I knew I was going to adore this pair. I met them, along with their lovely friends, at their hotel downtown, and we all headed off to City Hall together. City Hall is quiet in January, and there were only a few couples ahead of us, so it wasn’t long before Christian & Dermot were married and we were off for portraits! We stopped at the Brooklyn Bridge, City Hall Park, and ended the day in Central Park, where they were having lunch at the Boathouse to celebrate. Freezing temperatures or not, it was a pretty wonderful day, and I was so happy to be a part of it.
