I pretty much loved Annika & Elmar from the first time they emailed me. Their carefree, happy spirits shined through so vividly – even through words on a screen. Annika & Elmar are from Germany, but while planning a trip to the US with stops in Miami and New York City, they decided it would be the perfect time to elope. And quite literally on the top of New York City would be the perfect place to do it. I have wanted to photograph a wedding on the Top of the Rock for years, so when Annika told me about their plans, I couldn’t say yes fast enough!
They brought along two of their closest friends – another couple who had also just eloped in Europe a few weeks before – and had one of the most magical ceremonies I’ve ever photographed overlooking New York City on a perfect, sunshiny April afternoon. (Officiated by the always lovely Judie Guild.) It was a casual, heartfelt ceremony that I will absolutely never forget. Afterwards we headed out into the city to capture portraits, and pretty much had the best afternoon ever. Annika & Elmar, thank you both for being so wonderful in every way. You know how much I loved working with you both!!
