I’m just going to come out and say it, I loooooooove Jacque & Max. They are such an amazing couple, and at no point during the day did this elopement feel like work. I just felt like I was hanging out with two new friends. Two new friends who kept me laughing all day long. I first met these two a couple of months before their elopement over beers at one of my favorite neighborhood pubs. When I found out they were local, I was so excited – so few of my couples are actually from New York City, so being able to meet them in person before the wedding was such a treat.
On the day of their elopement, I met them at their Upper East Side apartment where the two of them were getting ready together. When everyone was dressed and ready to go, we hopped in a cab and headed to City Hall, where my very favorite officiant got these two married. And then after a quick stop for hotdogs, we were off into the city for portraits!
Random fun fact: while we were shooting in Central Park we saw a GIANT raccoon come ambling down the path near where we were. I was horrified, as I just assume a raccoon out in the day in NYC probably has rabies. I suggested we hightail it out of there as quickly as possible, and I’m pretty sure Jacque & Max thought I was being ridiculous, but they were kind enough not to say so.
Jacque & Max – thank you both so much for everything. I wish you two a lifetime of happiness! xo
