I think one of my favorite things about Marnie & James is their sense of humor – and on their wedding day it served them well. Marnie & James were married on a very rainy September morning – they were staying on the 13th floor of their hotel room, they were assigned number C666 when we arrived at City Hall, and they were called back into booth number 13 to sign their marriage license. Yeah. There was nothing to do but laugh as the “bad luck” symbols started piling up. By the end, we were hoping a black cat would cross their path as they walked out of City Hall to really complete the whole thing. But I predict that – despite all the sixes and thirteens – Marnie & James will have incredibly good luck in their marriage.
I was so lucky to get to photograph both their engagement and elopement – that never happens with my elopement clients, and I loved getting to know them both over the course of their stay in New York City. And by the end, I was really wishing they lived a lot closer than Brisbane, Australia, because I just had so much fun spending time with them. Marnie & James – thank you both for everything! From start to finish, you two were so fantastic to work with, and I hope you make it back to NYC sometime!
