Nathan & Laura traveled from Australia to elope at City Hall on a gorgeous late summer day. I feel like I say this about all of my weddings, but this was truly one of my favorites this year. I had unbelievable light and two subjects who made my job incredibly easy by being so gorgeous and easy to work with. After their City Hall ceremony, we made stops at the Brooklyn Bridge, the LOVE Sculpture, and Central Park. While I always give direction during shoots, the first thing I say to every couple is that I want you to be you. I want you to be your normal, silly, affectionate selves in front of the camera, so I can capture who you really are as a couple. I have to say – Nathan & Laura took that directive to heart, and part of why we were able to capture such spectacular photographs is that they were just themselves that day – relaxed, fun, full of laughter – and that makes all the difference in the world.
