Personal Goals for 2013 || New York City Elopement Packages

HEY! YOU! Have you taken the 2012 Reader Survey yet? If not, you need to get on that. Whether this is your first time here or you read everyday – whether you’re a stranger, friend or relative – please take a moment to give me some feedback! It’s quick and painless, and you’ll be helping me so much! Thank you!

2012 was such an incredible year in every way – so many things happened that I could not have envisioned this time last year: the business grew by leaps and bounds; we’re renovating a house; I spent the year criss crossing the continent and oceans and mostly got over that pesky fear of flying; I swam with enormous green sea turtles off the coast of Hawaii, went to the top of a mountain in Utah, and continued my love affair with San Francisco (don’t tell New York). The shy, anxiety ridden Katie Jane of five or ten years ago would not even recognize this person I’ve become. 2012 was a completely transformative year in my life, and through the good and bad, I am grateful for every moment because I finally feel like I’m starting to find my place in the world, starting to grow into my own skin.

You know me… I am all about putting things out into the world and hoping they happen. Speaking your dreams out loud seems to make them that much more real. So today I want to put my personal goals out into the universe for 2013. There were so many unexpected adventures in 2012, and I want 2013 to be so much more of the same. Next week I’ll talk about my business goals, but here are some of my personal goals for 2013:

  • Ride in a hot air balloon
  • Actually move into this new house
  • Learn to make perfect macarons
  • Start working on becoming fluent in Italian
  • Put our wedding album together (finally)
  • Go ziplining (We tried to do this in Hawaii, but John is apparently too tall! So I need a partner under six and a half feet tall for this one if anyone wants to volunteer!)
  • Ride the Roosevelt Island Tram
  • Travel, travel, travel. I’ll literally go anywhere I haven’t been before
  • Start planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand for early 2014
  • Be more physically active
  • Make more time for the hobbies I love: baking, reading, personal photography projects
  • Make more time for friends
  • Have a fabulous party with all my friends and family for my 30th birthday
  • Start a Christmas morning brunch tradition in our new house
What personal goals do you want to accomplish? What do you want 2013 to look like?

I’ll go ziplining with you! So much fun :) In the spirit of sharing, two goals of mine for next year: buy a house, and publish/get paid for some pictures (maybe a magazine piece?). C’mon 2013, rock some socks off.

What an amazing year you’ve had!!! I’m so excited to see you again in 2013!!!!! Love these goals. :) I need to make a list of my own. :)

YAY! Awesome goals girl, I know you’re going to knock them all out of the park :-D

Where are there places to go ziplining in New York? I spent EIGHT YEARS as a camp counselor, and I’ve never gone before! It sounds like so much fun!

You had such an exciting year! I have become a fan of the “put it out there and maybe it will come true” philosophy myself. I am actually putting up each goal on the new website (total convert after Camp Mighty and it gets to be like a social media site for reaching your goals, so if you want to join in it is Beta right now). I have some of the same as you – though I just crossed ziplining off at Thanksgiving. We should totally ride the tram together and I wish I knew a good hot air balloon place, it’s on my list! Can’t wait to see how you do on these, I know you will accomplish them :)

I just got this in my inbox and thought of you: Maybe it will help you with that first goal!

Nice goals! Come to Vegas and I can maybe hook us up with a hot air balloon ride!

I have many goals for the New Year, but my biggest goal will be to improve my craft and take at least one technical workshop on photography and at least one marketing/educational workshop!
