Megan & Ryan were just a delight to work with in every way. They were so warm and kindhearted, and I loved everything about their day. From Megan’s spectacular dress to the moody backdrop courtesy of the low, rolling clouds – this wedding was just a joy to photograph.

We met at their hotel near Grand Central Station and then headed off to Gapstow Bridge for their ceremony. While it pretty much rained all day, it wasn’t raining hard enough to drive us inside, but just enough that the park was fairly quiet and subdued. After their beautiful ceremony, we headed down to South Street Seaport, one of my favorite places to shoot. (Since I got married there, I am rather biased, of course.) Although most of the stores are still boarded up and closed from the hurricane last year, they’ve painted all the boards in bright, geometric shapes. It really makes for such an interesting backdrop.

I adore the photographs we captured, and I especially adore Megan & Ryan! Thank you both for everything!

I love the captured moment of groom helping bride get dressed. Such and intimate and symbolic nontraditional moment.
