We are a little over 24 hours away from our big trip, and I can’t believe it’s finally here. It still doesn’t seem real, and I’m having a hard time fathoming just how long we’ll be traveling when we set out tomorrow – roughly 30 hours door to door, 21 of that actually in the air. (Although the fact that I can be in on the other side of the planet in a mere 30 hours is pretty incredible.)
I’m looking forward to exploring Sydney and Melbourne, dipping my toes in the water at Bondi Beach, driving the Great Ocean Road, and seeing the penguins and koalas on Phillip Island. (And hopefully not running into any snakes or spiders at any point.) I’m also really excited to see some of my awesome clients and catch up over drinks. I never in a million years thought I would have the opportunity to travel to Australia, so I’m going to soak up every second, every new experience, and stay as unplugged and disconnected from work/internet as possible.
I have a few blog posts set to automatically publish while I’m away, and then I will be back in the office on Tuesday, September 24th, so if you email me anytime in the next three weeks, you’ll hear a response on the 24th. I actually arrive home a few days before that, but I’ve given myself a couple of extra days to recuperate and get over what I assume will be a tremendous amount of jet lag.
Hope you have a beautiful Labor Day weekend! I am pretty thrilled it will finally be fall when I return home to NYC! See you in three weeks!
