It started, as most crazy plans do, over beers in our backyard one night in October with two of our best friends. We’ve gone on a couple of weekend trips with them, and we decided we should all go somewhere in January. Skiing, perhaps? Maybe the Caribbean? And then – lightening strike – “let’s go to DisneyWorld!” None of us had been as adults, and for whatever reason, it seemed like a really good idea at the time. An email was immediately sent out to the rest of our little posse, and shockingly almost everyone was on board. (John was not so convinced, but somehow our enthusiasm won him over.) So tomorrow we are off to the Magic Kingdom for the long weekend. (Truly that is not a sentence I thought I’d ever utter unless we had kids someday.)
I feel like going to DisneyWorld as an adult is either going to be really fun or completely destroy all of my childhood memories. We’ll see! But I am not going to lie, I am pretty excited. The times we went to DisneyWorld are some of my favorite childhood memories, so I’m looking forward to reliving it.
I have blog posts set to automatically publish for tomorrow, but I will officially be out of the office. Have a great long weekend!
(Photos from my first trip to Disney with my family when I was eight. Could not get that darn sword out of the stone. Also – I didn’t have buck teeth, apparently that’s just how I smiled.)
