Melissa & Haley, along with four of their closest friends, traveled from Australia for their New York City elopement, and I was so happy to be a part of their day. It’s been a crazy week, weather wise, and with thunderstorms predicted for their ceremony time, we were all a little anxious hoping the weather would hold off for just a couple of hours. I first met them at the apartment they were staying in, in the West Village, for some getting ready photographs. Just as we stepped outside for their first look, the skies opened up and it started to rain – not a promising start. Amazingly by the time we arrived at Central Park half an hour later, the clouds seemed to move away and we were given the most gorgeous sunset for their Ladies Pavilion ceremony and portraits. After such a gray spring, I was thrilled to have some delicious, golden light to work with! Genevieve Dreizen officiated their ceremony, and the lightening and thunder held off until we were literally taking the very last of their photographs. It was just perfect. Mel & Haley – you guys are the best! Thank you so much for everything!
