I photographed Louise & Dan’s elopement back in April, and it was such a favorite of mine this year, mostly because of how wonderful these two and their families were to work with! They traveled from the UK with each set of parents, and I met them at The Benjamin for getting ready photographs and a sweet first look on their beautiful hotel terrace.
After a few quick portraits we were off to City Hall, but when we arrived we hit a bit of a snag – they had mistakenly grabbed their parents’ passports as we were walking out the door, not theirs. With City Hall closing in just a few minutes, there was no time to go back for them. Luckily, my favorite mustachioed officiant came to the rescue! Papers were signed, signatures were matched up, and he kindly waved us in and allowed my couple to be married despite the missing passports. We all breathed a great sigh of relief and were luckily able to laugh about it. After the ceremony, we headed up to the West Village and Washington Square Park for portraits, and then ended our day together with some well deserved cupcakes!
